Most visitors see three villages. There are eleven.
The coach tours run one route: Zaanse Schans, Volendam, Marken, back to the city by four. It is a good route. It is also the only one they are able to drive, because a 50-seat coach cannot cross the bridges at Broek in Waterland or park in De Rijp.
We drive a 7-seat van. That changes which country you get to see. The same day that takes a coach to three car parks takes us through Zuiderwoude, past the smokehouses at Monnickendam, into the Beemster polder — which is on the UNESCO list for the way it was drained in 1612 — and still gets you to the windmills before the afternoon crowds arrive.

How we work
No surprises on the day
You get the whole vehicle
Every tour is for your group alone. Up to 7 guests in a Mercedes V-Class. No strangers, no fixed departure time.
Prices are per group, published
The price you see is the price for the vehicle and the driver for the day, whether you are two people or seven. No per-person maths, no surcharges on the day.
A 30% deposit holds the date
You pay 30% to confirm and the rest on the day. Free cancellation up to 72 hours before your tour.
Arriving by air or by ship?
Two situations we handle that most tour companies do not, because they do not own the vehicle.
A long layover at Schiphol
With six hours or more between flights you can be standing in a windmill instead of sitting at a gate. We collect you in arrivals, keep your luggage in the van, and put you back at departures with time to spare.
A ship calling at IJmuiden or Rotterdam
Fewer ships now dock in central Amsterdam, which means a 45 to 60 minute drive before your day even starts. We plan the return around your all-aboard time, not around ours.
Who you are actually booking
This is a small operation, not a booking platform. The person who answers your message is the person who drives you. That is the reason we can change the route at ten in the morning because you liked a village and want another half hour there.
Questions we get asked first
Is the price per person or per group?
Per private group, never per person. The vehicle sets the price: an eight-hour tour is €575 in an E-Klasse or Tesla, €750 in the V-Klasse and €875 in an S-Klasse, and that figure is the same whether there are two of you or seven.
How many people fit in the vehicle?
Up to 7 guests with normal day luggage. If you are a larger party we run a second vehicle; tell us the number and we will quote it.
Do you pick up at the hotel?
Yes, anywhere in Amsterdam, and also at Schiphol, the cruise terminals in Amsterdam, IJmuiden and Rotterdam, and at addresses outside the city by arrangement.
Are you a guide or a driver?
A driver who knows the region and will tell you about it. We are not licensed museum guides. If you want a licensed guide inside a specific museum we will arrange one and add it to the quote.
How far ahead should I book?
In spring and summer the popular dates go two to four weeks out. Outside those months a week is usually enough. Ask us for any date and we will tell you honestly whether it is free.
