You land at nine. Your room is not ready until three. Most people spend that gap in a hotel lobby with their luggage; this is the alternative.
A transfer that does something
A Schiphol transfer to a city hotel takes half an hour and costs most of what this does. The difference is that this one takes the long way round and gives you your first afternoon back.
It works particularly well for people arriving on overnight flights from North America, who land in the morning and are told to come back at three. Rather than sitting in a lobby you spend the gap outdoors, which is also the fastest way through jet lag.

Out of the airport
Bags in the van, and they stay there until your hotel.
Zaanse Schans
Thirty minutes from the airport. Working windmills, the clog workshop, coffee. Around two hours, at whatever pace jet lag allows.
Into Amsterdam
Thirty minutes, arriving at your hotel from the north.
Your hotel
Around 15:00, which is when your room is ready anyway.

Questions
Can we check in first?
Most Amsterdam hotels will not release a room before 15:00, which is exactly why this works. We take your bags, you see something, and you arrive at reception when the room is actually ready.
What if we are exhausted?
Say so on the day and we will drive straight to the hotel. You pay the transfer rate rather than the tour rate. Nobody should start a holiday being marched around a windmill against their will.
Does this work in reverse, on departure day?
Yes, and it is arguably better. Check out at eleven, spend four hours in the countryside, and we drop you at the terminal. Same price.
